Go to the shopHotel and residential gyms are judged in the first thirty seconds. Guests and tenants look for clean, current equipment that works — and they notice a broken treadmill faster than they notice a new one. We specify for that reality: durable machines, small footprints, and servicing that keeps everything running.
Hospitality fitness rooms are usually a converted space rather than a purpose-built one: a basement, a podium level, a spare suite. That brings a specific set of problems.
Basement and podium levels frequently sit under 2.4 m, which rules out tall racks and overhead work. Machine selection has to respect it.
Guest rooms above or beside the gym make dropped weights a complaint risk. Flooring build-up and equipment choice both matter.
No trainer on the floor means equipment must be safe to use without instruction, and hard to misuse or damage.
Unsupervised, mixed-ability users push the specification toward guided machines and fixed weights rather than free-weight platforms.
| Room size | Typical fit |
|---|---|
| Under 30 m² | Two or three cardio machines, one multi-station or functional trainer, a fixed dumbbell set, bench, mats and mirrors. |
| 30–60 m² | Four to six cardio machines, a multi-station plus two or three selectorised machines, dumbbells to 30 kg, benches, stretch zone. |
| 60 m² and above | Separated cardio and resistance zones, a small free-weight area with proper platforms, functional rig, full accessory wall. |
Multi-stations earn their place in hospitality: one footprint, many exercises, guided movement paths, and far less that can be set up wrongly by an untrained guest.
Around 20 m² can hold two cardio machines, a functional trainer and a small dumbbell set — enough to satisfy most guests who simply want to train while travelling. Below that you are better off with a well-chosen two-machine setup than a cramped room with six.
Yes, and it is one of the first things we check. Under about 2.4 m we avoid tall racks and overhead pressing stations and lean on selectorised machines, functional trainers with lower travel, and seated cardio. Tell us the clear height, not the slab-to-slab height.
A combination of three things: flooring with an acoustic layer rather than plain rubber tiles, avoiding free-weight drop zones directly under bedrooms, and choosing machines with belt or magnetic resistance instead of impact-heavy equipment. We specify all three together — flooring alone rarely solves it.
We do, if you want us to. Hospitality gyms run unsupervised and often outside staffed hours, so faults can sit unnoticed for days. An AMC puts servicing on a schedule with a known cost instead of reacting to complaints.
Yes. For groups and developers we hold a standard specification so every site matches, phase deliveries against handover dates, and keep servicing under one agreement. Start at Business Enquiries.
Send the room area, the clear ceiling height and what sits above it. We will return a layout, an equipment list and a servicing option.
